You can access the temperature and humidity readings in your immediate vicinity using the Bosch BME280 sensor in the Atmotube PRO that reports the local temperature, pressure, and humidity readings. The sensor has been lab tested and certified to be accurate with a variability of around ± 1 degree Celsius and ± 3% RH. However, field testing will result in higher variability. The sensor is digital and cannot be calibrated.
The readings may be affected by:
device charging
extensive heating (e.g. holding the device in hands, sun exposure)
moving the device from a cold to a warm environment as the device needs some time to gauge temperature readings, which is at least 15-20 minutes to reflect accurate temperature readings
We advise the following to make sure you're getting accurate readings:
Make sure the device isn't situated somewhere or on something that might affect the readings, like close to a heating inlet or another potential source of heat, such as direct sunlight.
Before relying on the device's readings, make sure you've not been handling it for at least 30 minutes. The heat generated while handling the device will cause the temperature to rise.
Because charging also produces heat, the temperature and humidity readings are paused during charging. Please give the device some time to gauge accurate temperature readings after charging is finished.
Please give the device at least 15–20 minutes to reflect accurate temperature readings after moving it between two environments with a significant temperature difference (such as from the outdoors to the indoors or vice versa).
If the device readings need to be offset in comparison with a more accurate temperature and humidity sensor, you can perform fine-tuning in App>Settings>Advanced options on Android and App>Settings>Device>Calibration Update on iOS.
